My org, BlueDot Impact, is hiring too! We want to build a cracked AI governance talent pipeline to in the future fill all these roles with top talent fast.
Your mission: Figure out what governance-y shaped knowledge/skill/intervention is needed to make AI go well, then build the workforce to make it happen. You’ll have total autonomy to run programs (courses, bootcamps, whatever moves the needle) to train top talent and place them in critical roles.
This is a high-agency role with real influence on AI's trajectory. You'll work with an excellent team in an impact-first culture. Competitive comp (110-160k USD), strong benefits, and all the resources you need to succeed.
We're looking to hire 1-3 people asap. Flexible on seniority - we care more about your ability to ship than years of experience.
Email joshua@bluedot.org if you know someone perfect for this - or if that's you.
My team - the UK AI Security Institute's Strategic Awareness team - is hiring too! We are hiring a Transformative AI Policy Analyst.
In this role, you will drive work to leverage AISI's technical insights for cross-government work to assess and prepare for transformative AI.
We are looking for candidates with an excellent strategic sense of impactful interventions for transformative AI, very strong communication skills, and outstanding organisational abilities.
Our team is small and agile, highly impact focused, and works on fast feedback cycles. I have never worked on anything that has felt higher impact - come and join!
Applications close 31 July. Applications are only open to UK nationals. Message me on linkedin (Jonas Sandbrink) if you have any questions!
Thank you for this comprehensive list, Peter! I will be submitting an application for the Researcher role at IAPS later today. I was very excited to see that the report your team wrote regarding location verification for AI chips is a fantastic response to much of the work I did at BIS on mature node semiconductors and vulnerabilities in these emerging technology value chains.
Maybe, but much of it appears to window glazing - especially in AI Safety - I’d appreciate any comments on my posts should you get the chance - especially the article on AI Safety and there being no mechanism for feedback from those outside the company doors - all the best and come and subscribe if you feel my posts have anything to offer - all the best - Kevin.
We don't have a fixed preference - it really depends on what gaps we have on the team at any given time. Sometimes we need more research depth, sometimes more policy chops. We try to build a balanced team overall rather than optimizing for one skill set over the other.

This is great! For the roles you are hiring, do you weigh research experience or policy experience more heavily?

Any tips on how best to contribute some time & money while keeping another job?
(Currently working on product. I would prefer to transition to work on safety. But I don't want to subject my family to such a large pay cut)
Donate!
Sure thing, will include IAPS when planning our donations this year.
Btw the IAPS website should probably include the donations page in the nav ux. Took me a while to find it down there in the footer.
Very helpful. Thanks
This is awesome! Thanks!
